Discover.Structure. Grow.
Mining is our business. We discover opportunities, structure companies around and grow them by investment, exploration and development.
The Holding at a Glance
Aumontis is an active holding in the mining sector, operating from Liechtenstein. We create own projects and invest in projects of others, globally.
Asymmetric Value Creation
One drill hole: the distance between an exploration company and a development asset.
In most industries, building a billion-dollar company requires billions in capital. Mining is different: the relationship between capital invested and value created is non-linear. A single drill hole can turn a $5 million exploration company into a $500 million development asset, and a single operational improvement can transform an abandoned mine into a cash-generating business.
Aumontis is structured to position capital at precisely these inflection points. We don't predict commodity prices, and we don't diversify into dozens of positions hoping one pays off. We identify specific geological and operational setups where modest investment unlocks disproportionate value, then deploy experienced people to execute. Our team has done this across four continents, generating hundreds of millions € in shareholder value.
How We Invest
We target the two inflection points in the mining value chain where the greatest risk-adjusted returns are generated, and where our team's operational experience gives us a decisive advantage.
Early Stage Exploration
District-scale land packages in high-potential geological corridors. We acquire or stake at minimal cost in jurisdictions where proven mineral belts have been overlooked by international capital. Modern targeting methods (GIS, geophysics, geochemistry) identify drill targets.
Our geological team has done this across four continents, from the Australian outback to the Andean copper belt.
Operational Turnarounds
Past-producing or orphaned mines with known geological resources and substantial untapped upside. Assets shut down due to commodity cycles, political shifts, or management failures, not geology.
We apply operational expertise, fresh capital and restructured management to unlock value that previous owners left behind. The resource exists. The infrastructure exists. We execute.
The Lassonde Curve
The two moments in mining where capital efficiency is highest, and where Aumontis operates.
"We don't buy mines that failed. We buy mines that were abandoned by owners who couldn't wait. Patience, operational skill, and the willingness to go where others won't. That's the edge."
Simon Bodensteiner, CEO
